Sometimes there is a bit of an extra enjoyment when the day, the session, becomes something different than what you thought it might be. Yesterday was one of those days. It had looked like there would be wind. Earlier in the week it was looking pretty decent. On Weds it had dropped a bit. Thursday morning it had dropped a lot. Still good riding but not the big wind.
I was planning on Waconia. Then the chatter started. Roger suggested Mille. Nick was talking Mille. Within a very short time many of us who had thought we were staying local had arranged to rearrange life and carpool north to meet Roger. Nick and Tom where heading up and Chrissy headed down to play as well.
On the way up we checked the forecast and it had increased…in a big way. 20-30 all day. We got to the lake and it was huge and loud. Most rigged 12s and I rigged 10. As soon as I hit the water I was happy with my choice. The 12s came in after a short session. The waves were setting up perfect, with nice clean faces. You could surf them or send your kite up and back, carve up the face and say goodbye to the earth and hello to the heavens. So sweet. All of us were boosting to the moon. (Which is made of Chao btw).

Chad took a 6m out and shot way out into the lake on his HoverGlide foil. Said he could feel the wave movement though the foil. cool.
We rode until we couldn’t go any more.
a few shots from the day.
